Malignant ovarian tumors account for 3% of all cancers among women; they are the 5th cause of death from all cancers and the 1st cause of death due to gynecologic malignancy. Diagnosis can be challenging, since ovarian cancer doesn t usually present symptoms before it reaches late stages. Differential diagnosis is achieved utilizing either biomarkers

Vortex nucleation by negative ions in He4-rich HE3HE4 mixtures
Physica B+C, 1981Abstract At high pressures at low temperatures the acceleration of a negative ion in He4, placed in an electric field, can be limited by vortex-ring nucleation. There exists a Landau criterion for calculating the critical velocity for vortex ring production. I calculate the dependence of the critical velocity on He3 concentration.

Thermodynamics of He3 and He4 Solutions above the λ Temperature of Pure He4
The Physics of Fluids, 1963The thermodynamic properties of He3 and He4 solutions in the temperature range 2.2 °K to 2.6 °K have been investigated on the basis of some of the classical theories of nonideal solutions. Calculations have also been made of the excess chemical potentials from the vapor pressure data using some general thermodynamical considerations.

The density of He4 under its own vapor pressure has been measured between 1.2°K and 4.4°K by a direct method. The results are given in smoothed tabular form and are compared with the results of previous measurements. An attempt has been made to derive a usable value for the critical density from the liquid and vapor densities at lower temperatures.

The hypernucleus ΛLi8 and the decay process ΛLi8 → π− + He4 + He4
Nuclear Physics, 1963Abstract The selection rules for the decay sequence Λ Li 8 → π − + Be 8∗ , Be 8∗ → He 4 + He 4 are discussed and estimates are made of the transition rates and the angular distributions as function of the ΛLi8 spin J using intermediate coupling nuclear wave-functions.

A miniature continuously filled He4 cryostat
Cryogenics, 1978Abstract A miniature continuously filled cryostat is described, small enough to operate in a standard liquid He4 storage vessel, and capable of providing temperatures down to 1 ...

Infrared–microwave double resonance spectroscopy of OCS in pure He4 and mixed He4/He3 clusters
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2002We have performed microwave–infrared double resonance measurements on OCS in pure He4 and mixed He4/He3 clusters. In contrast to our previous study on OCS in pure He4 cluster, where an asymmetric inhomogeneous linewidth increasing with rotational quantum number j was observed [S. Grebenev, M. Havenith, F. Madeja, J. P. Toennies, and A. F.

Some of the more surprising aspects of both He3 and He4 are the exceedingly complex phase diagrams which have been mapped for these seemingly simple substances. In connection with the λ-transition of He4, we have already seen how the P-V-T and thermal properties behave anomalously, as we have also discussed some of the unusual characteristics of ...
