Surface Ripple Formation by Bombardment with Clusters: Influence of Mass
Nanostructure formation on Co(110) surfaces was studied by using irradiation with cluster ion beams with oblique incidence and an energy of 250 eV/atom. In this work, the effect of the mass of the cluster projectiles on the process was analyzed.

Hypernuclear spectroscopy of products from Li-6 projectiles on a carbon target at 2 A GeV [PDF]
A novel experiment, aiming at demonstrating the feasibility of hypernuclear spectroscopy with heavy ion beams, was conducted. Using the invariant mass method, the spectroscopy of hypernuclear products of Li-6 projectiles on a carbon target at 2 A GeV was

Acutely lowering salivary pH (with sugar‐containing acidic gum vs. sugar‐free gum) augments salivary nitrate reduction to nitrite, plasma nitrite concentration, and blood pressure lowering with dietary nitrate. Modifying salivary pH reveals a mechanism by which the nitrate‐nitrite‐NO pathway may be upregulated/inhibited, with potential for other ...

Sputtering of solid deuterium by He-ions
Sputtering of solid deuterium by bombardment of 3He+ and 4He+ ions was studied. Some features are similar to hydrogen ion bombardment of solid deuterium, but for the He-ions a significant contribution of elastic processes to the total yield can be ...

Kin discrimination in plants: overview and implications for population and community ecology
ABSTRACT Following the discovery of identity discrimination, particularly self and kin discrimination amongst plant competitors, research on interplant interactions has advanced significantly within plant physiology and evolutionary ecology. This review synthesizes current knowledge on how both self and kin discrimination influence plant growth ...
