A Model for Phenological Development of Vietnamese Rice Influenced by Transplanting Shock

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2004
Phasic development of rice is influenced by various climatic conditions and the nursery duration. As a step toward the analysis of yield potential and yield loss in the Red River Delta, Vietnam, we conducted field trials with different nursery durations ...

Examination of head versus body heading may help clarify the extent to which animal movement pathways are structured by environmental cues?

open access: yesMovement Ecology, 2023
Understanding the processes that determine how animals allocate time to space is a major challenge, although it is acknowledged that summed animal movement pathways over time must define space-time use.

Establishing an Apheresis Medicine Program in a Resource‐Constrained Setting: A 5‐Year Experience From Lagos, Nigeria

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Establishing a comprehensive apheresis medicine program in a resource‐constrained setting presents significant structural, financial, and logistical challenges. Despite the growing clinical importance of apheresis services globally, published experience from sub‐Saharan Africa remains sparse.

Using variable importance measures to identify a small set of SNPs to predict heading date in perennial ryegrass

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Prior knowledge on heading date enables the selection of parents of synthetic cultivars that are well matched with respect to time of heading, which is essential to ensure plants put together will cross pollinate. Heading date of individual plants can be

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Research on intelligent linkage regulation and control of local ventilation in long distance heading face

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2023
The existing research on ventilation control for long-distance heading face is mostly limited to the frequency conversion of local ventilation fans themselves.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Time-Optimal Trajectory Design for Heading Motion of the Underwater Vehicle

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2023
Underwater vehicles are a powerful tool that can assist oceanologists with measuring the state of oceans on a large scale. The heading control is essential for the underwater vehicle to follow a specific path.
