TATP Headspace Study

Propellants, Explosives, Pyrotechnics, 2021
AbstractCompositional analysis of crude and recrystallized TATP in solution and the headspace above solid material did not identify acetone presence in any sample. Acetone was detected in trace levels in crude TATP samples heated to 65 °C for 42 hours. The concentration of which was observed to decrease over time.

Headspace Solvent Microextraction

Analytical Chemistry, 2001
A hanging microliter drop of 1-octanol is shown to be an excellent preconcentration medium for headspace analysis of volatile compounds in an aqueous matrix by gas chromatography (GC) or gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Model compounds benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and o-xylene (BTEX) are conveniently and rapidly preconcentrated in the ...

Headspace Volatiles of Marijuana

Nature, 1973
THE sweet odour of Cannabis sativa, L. is of special interest as a possible means for the detection of illicit marijuana traffic. US Customs dogs, trained to alert to the odour of marijuana and hashish, are successfully used to find concealed contraband.

Headspace Constituents of Opium

Planta Medica, 1994
The headspace of medicinal opium (Ph. Ned. 8) was analyzed by means of GC-FID, (+EI)-GC-MS (low and high resolution), and GC-FTIR. After olfactoric evaluation of the headspace sample by professional perfumers by the use of the GC-sniffing technique and after correlation tests with trained police dogs, more than 70 components were identified.

In-vessel headspace liquid-phase microextraction

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2021
A new mode of headspace liquid-phase microextraction termed in-vessel headspace liquid-phase microextraction (IV-HS-LPME) has been developed. A plastic vessel was used as a holder for an extraction phase. Problems with drop stability, limitations in the stirring speed, and too little volume of the acceptor phase have been completely eliminated.

Headspace volatiles from propolis

Flavour and Fragrance Journal, 1989
AbstractVolatile compounds from propolis were trapped on Tenax GC, desorbed and then analysed by capillary GLC and mass spectrometry. All compounds identified appear to originate from popular bud exudates which form a major component of propolis.

Developments in multiple headspace extraction

Journal of Biochemical and Biophysical Methods, 2007
This paper reviews new developments in multiple headspace extraction (MHE), especially its combination with two miniaturized extraction techniques, solid-phase microextraction (SPME) and single-drop microextraction (SDME). The combination of the techniques broadens the applicability of SPME and SDME to quantitative determination of analytes in complex ...

Headspace Water-Based Liquid-Phase Microextraction

Analytical Chemistry, 2005
A new organic-free mode of headspace liquid-phase microextraction termed headspace water-based liquid-phase microextraction has been developed. Five phenols were used as model compounds in the development and evaluation of the procedure. Parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were investigated.

Continuous chromatomembrane headspace analysis

Journal of Chromatography A, 1996
Abstract A novel version of headspace analysis is substantiated by theory and experiment. The version assumes chromatomembrane extraction of the analyte components into a gas phase. The boundary conditions for the process of chromatomembrane gas extraction are established.
