Quantitative Analysis of NDMA in Drug Products: A Proposed High-Throughput Approach Using Headspace–SIFT-MS

open access: yesAppliedChem
Since the initial 2018 recall of angiotensin receptor blockers due to unacceptable levels of mutagenic N-nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) impurity, numerous drug products delivering diverse active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) have been recalled ...

Repellency Potential, Chemical Constituents of Ocimum Plant Essential Oils, and Their Headspace Volatiles against Anopheles gambiae s. s., Malaria Vector

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2023
African malaria mosquitoes (Anopheles gambiae sensu stricto) transmit a malaria parasite (Plasmodium falciparum) to humans. The current control strategies for the vector have mainly focussed on synthetic products, which negatively impact the environment ...

Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

Examination of Intermolecular Forces Influencing Headspace Analysis of Biological Samples

open access: yesMetabolites
Headspace analysis is an effective method for assessing the concentrations of volatile and semi-volatile metabolites in biological samples. In particular, solid-phase microextraction (SPME) is an efficient tool for headspace analyses. Metabolites present

Residual Printing Solvents in Packaging Materials

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2002
Analysis of residual printing solvents in packaging materials. The aim was to define an analytical method based on the static headspace gas chromatography (HS-GC) method with a mass spectrometric detector (MSD) to qualify and quantify residual ...

Comparative Investigation of Conventional and Innovative Headspace Extraction Methods to Explore the Volatile Content of Human Milk

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
The odor of human milk induces search-like movements and oral activation in newborns, which increases their chances of taking advantage of milk intake and benefits. However, the underlying volatile fraction of human milk remains understudied.

Heme‐NO Dilates Arteries via Mobilization of NO Moieties From an Intracellular NO Store Within Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...

Differences in the Emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) between Non-Differentiating and Adipogenically Differentiating Mesenchymal Stromal/Stem Cells from Human Adipose Tissue

open access: yesCells, 2019
Metabolic characterization of human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (ASCs) is of importance in stem cell research. The monitoring of the cell status often requires cell destruction.

Electrolyte Design for Simultaneous Interfacial Stabilization in Si||NCM811 Full Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐additive electrolyte (DAEL) system was optimized to regulate interfacial reactions in both Si anode and the NCM811 cathode. DAEL suppresses gas evolution and degradation, enabling stable interphases. These synergistic effects enhance electrochemical stability and extend battery cycle life in high‐energy lithium‐ion cells.
