Multiscale Coupling From Mastication to Retronasal Aroma Perception: The PG‐DTCFN Model and Multiphysics Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using grilled lamb skewers as a model system, this work builds a multiscale coupling framework from oral processing to retronasal aroma perception, reveals dual‐kinetic release patterns and Electroencephalogram‐characterized central encoding features, and proposes an interpretable physics‐guided deep learning model validated by multiphysics simulation,

Quantitative Endogenous Formate Analysis in Plasma Using Headspace Gas Chromatography Without a Headspace Analyzer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Analytical Toxicology, 2007
The objective was to develop a simple routine method for quantitative measurement of endogenous formic acid in plasma and whole blood using headspace gas chromatography-flame ionization detection. (GC-FID). Two-hundred microliters of sample was placed in a 1-mL glass vial. Fifty microliters of aqueous ethanol (10%) was added as an internal standard and

Single‐cell Transcriptome Profiling Reveals Gene Regulatory Networks and Key Genes in the Root Epidermis and Cortical Cells Associated with Early Nodulation in Glycine Max

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomics of soybean roots soon after rhizobial inoculation reveals epidermal and cortical cell‐specific programs and gene‐regulatory networks acting in symbiosis establishment. We identify an ethylene‐driven regulatory circuit involving WRKY6.3/6.4 transcription factors targeting select Nod19 genes that promotes infection‐thread ...

Analysis of hydrogen and methane in seawater by “Headspace” method: Determination at trace level with an automatic headspace sampler [PDF]

open access: yesTalanta, 2017
"Headspace" technique is one of the methods for the onboard measurement of hydrogen (H2) and methane (CH4) in deep seawater. Based on the principle of an automatic headspace commercial sampler, a specific device has been developed to automatically inject gas samples from 300ml syringes (gas phase in equilibrium with seawater).

Revolutionising Agricultural Sustainability: New ‘Furrow Tillage’ can Mitigate Short‐Term Soil‐to‐Atmosphere CO2 Flux and Promote Soil‐Plant‐Microbe Health

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Furrow tillage resolves the conventional‐vs.‐no‐tillage trade‐off by simultaneously cutting CO2 efflux to 2.0–3.0 g C m−2 d−1 and unlocking high nutrient availability for the rice rhizosphere. This scalable agronomic solution strengthens soil health, enhances plant physiology, reshapes microbial metabolism, and shifts paddy systems toward a net ...

Streamlined V3.5+ Electrolyte Production by Leveraging Chemical and Catalytic Reductions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A tuned catalytic process for V3.5+ electrolyte production is shown to streamline the conventional chemical‐to‐catalytic sequence by extending catalysis into the rate‐determining reduction regime. This study shows that initiating catalysis in this regime shortens the overall production time by 67% based on rigorous thermodynamic and kinetic analysis of

The Essential Oil of (Beck) K. Malý

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2009
Essential oil of Thymus aureopunctatus (Beck) K. Malý, obtained by hydrodistillation and headspace technique, was subjected to capillary GC-MS analysis, and its volatile composition was compared with essential oil profile of Thymus serpyllum L.

Headspace analysis of the volatile oils of Agastache

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1992
Equilibrium headspace analysis in combination with gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy was used to identify volatile compounds released by the inflorescences and leaves from individual plants of Agastache foeniculum, Agastache rugosa, and putative hybrids. Methylchavicol was the major constituent in most populations tested. The inflorescences produced
