Early and late outcomes after heart transplantation in a low-volume transplant centre [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Early (one year) and late (15 year) outcomes after heart transplantation in Malta were evaluated by means of a retrospective analysis of mortality and morbidity, derived from the transplant database.

Nasal Delivery of Engineered Exosomes via a Thermo‐Sensitive Hydrogel Depot Reprograms Glial Cells for Spinal Cord Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineered macrophage‐derived exosomes overexpressing GNA12 and GNA13 reprogram glial cells to promote neuroprotection and neural regeneration following SCI. A chitosan‐based thermosensitive hydrogel enables sustained intranasal exosome delivery, bypassing systemic barriers and enhancing therapeutic efficacy.

A gentler approach to monitor for heart transplant rejection

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
Despite developments in circulating biomarker and imaging technology in the assessment of cardiovascular disease, the surveillance and diagnosis of heart transplant rejection has continued to rely on histopathologic interpretation of the endomyocardial ...

Chirality Regulates Stem Cell Fate and Promotes Corneal Epithelial Regeneration via Manipulating Notch Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chirality governs the limbal epithelial stem cell fate. Right‐handed chirality enhances cell proliferation and differentiation, while left‐handed chirality partially maintains cell stemness. By activating the Notch pathway, 3D right‐handed chiral hydrogel offers a drug‐free and cell‐free strategy for effective corneal regeneration.

Quantification of circulating TCR-engineered T cells targeting a human endogenous retrovirus post-adoptive transfer using nanoplate digital PCR

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Methods & Clinical Development
In vivo expansion of genetically modified T cells in cancer patients following adoptive transfer has been linked to both anti-tumor activity and T cell-mediated toxicities.
