Perioperative Normobaric Hyperoxia Combined With Pulmonary Rehabilitation Intervention for Enhanced Short‐Term Recovery in Lung Cancer Surgery

open access: yesThoracic Cancer, Volume 17, Issue 9, May 2026.
Normobaric hyperoxia enhances antioxidant defenses and promotes tissue repair, improving functional outcomes. However, its perioperative application in lung cancer patients remains limited. Normobaric hyperoxia combined with perioperative pulmonary rehabilitation may reduce postoperative LOS and total hospitalization cost for VATS‐treated patients ...

¹²³I-MIBG heart-to-mediastinum ratio is influenced by high-energy photon penetration of collimator septa from liver and lung activity.

open access: yesNuclear medicine communications, 2015
The 123I-metaiodobenzylguanidine (123I-MIBG) late heart-to-mediastinum ratio (H/M) is a well-established prognostic parameter in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF). However, 123I presents imaging problems owing to high-energy photon emission leading to penetration of collimator septa and subsequent reduction in image quality.

Meta‐Analysis: Prevalence and Incidence of Gastroparesis Following Lung or Heart Transplantation

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 63, Issue 10, Page 1348-1359, May 2026.
Gastroparesis occurs in nearly one‐third of lung and heart‐lung transplant recipients (pooled prevalence 31.9%; incidence 25.7%), driven by surgical complexity, perioperative opioid exposure, and diagnostic criteria. Standardized gastric emptying assessment and multidisciplinary management, including opioid minimization, immunosuppressant optimization,

Stage III Lymph Node–Positive Non‐Small‐Cell Lung Cancer Patients With or Without Lymph Node Irradiation by Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy: Propensity Score–Matched Analysis

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study compared the local control (LC) and survival of patients with stage III lymph node–positive non‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who received lymph node irradiation (LNs R+) and those who did not (LNs R−). Methods We retrospectively reviewed patients with stage III LN–positive NSCLC who underwent stereotactic body radiotherapy

Cardiac 123 I-MIBG planar heart to mediastinum ratios depend on patient size; phantom studies suggest SPECT-CT could improve quantification [PDF]

open access: yesBiomedical Physics & Engineering Express, 2019
Abstract Introduction : Planar 123 I-MIBG (meta-iodobenzylguanidine) cardiac imaging is listed as an indicative biomarker in the 2017 international consensus criteria for the diagnosis of dementia with Lewy bodies. There has been very little research into

Safety and feasibility of near‐infrared fluorescence imaging with inhaled indocyanine green to assess the pulmonary parenchyma in six normal dogs

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, Volume 55, Issue 4, Page 771-780, May 2026.
Abstract Objective To assess the safety and feasibility of near‐infrared fluorescence (NIRF) imaging with inhaled indocyanine green (ICG) to visualize normal pulmonary parenchyma in dogs, report clinically useful information regarding dosage and timing of administration, and to evaluate effects on pulmonary function and tissue histology.

Early Experimental Report of the First 8‐Gene‐Edited Pig‐to‐Rhesus Macaque Cardiac Xenotransplantation in China

open access: yesXenotransplantation, Volume 33, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to investigate the functional recovery of an 8‐gene‐edited pig heart after orthotopic xenotransplantation, the characteristics of the recipient's immune responses, and the efficacy of postoperative complication management to provide comprehensive experimental evidence for the clinical translation of xenogeneic ...
