Stand-Alone Heartbeat Detection in Multidimensional Mechanocardiograms

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2019
We describe a home health monitoring solution with cardiac beat-to-beat detection using accelerometer and gyroscope signal fusion. The proposed method measures both the precordial translational and rotational motions of the chest using miniaturized inertial sensors.

Heart rate monitoring of physical fitness training load based on wavelet transform

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2022
The detection of fluctuations is a crucial step in the process of isolating heart rate oscillation signals. This is necessary to circumvent the issue wherein a variety of auditory signals will invariably interfere with the collection of centre velocity ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

EARLY DETECTION AND MONITORING SYSTEM OF HEART DISEASE BASED ON ELECTROCARDIOGRAM SIGNAL

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu Komputer dan Informasi, 2014
Heart disease is the number one deadly disease in Indonesia. One of the main causes of fatality is the late detection of the disease. To avoid escalation of mortality caused by heart disease, we need early detection and monitoring system of heart disease.
