Factors governing heat affected zone during wire bonding

open access: yesTransactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China, 2009
In the wire bonding process of microelectronic packaging, heat affect zone (HAZ) is an important factor governing the loop profile of bonding. The height of loop is affected by the length of the HAZ. Factors governing the HAZ were studied. To investigate this relationship, experiments were done for various sizes of wire and free air ball (FAB ...

Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Microstructural investigation of the heat-affected zone of simulated welded joint of P91 steel

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2013
In the process of testing real components exposed to elevated temperature, it is not possible to neglect cracks. The most significant cracks can be induced by welding, which is applied for joining of structural components.

Study on the Corrosion Behaviours of X80 Pipeline Steel Joints Fabricated via Hot-Wire Tungsten Inert Gas Welding

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
X80 pipeline steel joints were fabricated via hot-wire tungsten inert gas welding by using ER70S-G wire with a diameter of 1.2 mm. The microstructures of the welded joints were analysed by using metallographic microscopy.

The influence of the HAZ softening on the mechanical behaviour of welded joints containing cracks in the weld metal [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The mechanical behaviour of welds containing cracks was analysed through the numerical simulation of the three-point bending tests of welded specimens. This paper presents the mechanical model and the methodology used for the numerical simulation of the ...

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.
