Heat affected zone in surfacing chromium ledeburitic steel [PDF]

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2010
Tools get failured during work; wear is a major factor that contributes to failures. Damaged tools are replaced or filed. This paper describes typical changes that occur in the heat affected zone of tool (HAZ), which was repaired by surfacing with a TIG ...

The technology of thermal welding of the circulation piping of NPPS containing the influence of ultrasound

open access: yesNuclear Energy and Technology, 2017
The authors propose a thermal welding technology with ultrasound treatment for NPP circulation pipe-lines. This technology can significantly increase the strength of welded connections by reducing residual stresses, grain size and welded joint degassing.

On the Brittleness of Heat-Affected Zone (Report 9)

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Welding Society, 1956
Distribution of the toughness in the neighbour of weld, depending on the hysteresis and the directionality of the steel plate, are examined. Usability of the "Synthetic Impact Test Specimens" are considered. Max. brittle ratio of the heat-affected zone of the full-annealed steel plate seems to be greater than that of as-rolled steel plate.

Study on the Corrosion Behavior of 7A52 Al Alloy Welded Joint by Electrochemical Method

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
Twin-wire metal inert gas arc welding (TMW) was used to join the 7A52 Al alloy plates with the ER 5356 filler. The microstructure observation showed that the joint included four zones, i. e., base metal, heat affected zone, fusion zone and weld zone. The
