β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Effect of electrically aligned polycrystalline diamond flakes on the through-plane thermal conductivity of heat conduction sheets

open access: yesFunctional Diamond
Heat conduction sheets, which are composed of a thermally conductive filler and a base elastomer matrix, are important for dissipating heat from devices to a heat sink.

Weak coupling limits in a stochastic model of heat conduction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We study the Brownian momentum process, a model of heat conduction, weakly coupled to heat baths. In two different settings of weak coupling to the heat baths, we study the non-equilibrium steady state and its proximity to the local equilibrium measure ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Explicit Time Integration Method Based on Uniform Trigonometric B-Spline Function for Transient Heat Conduction Analysis

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In this paper, a new explicit time integration method for transient heat conduction analysis is proposed based on the uniform trigonometric B-spline function. The algorithmic calculation procedure for solving the heat conduction problem is given.

Barycentric Rational Collocation Method for Nonlinear Heat Conduction Equation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2022
Nonlinear heat equation solved by the barycentric rational collocation method (BRCM) is presented. Direct linearization method and Newton linearization method are presented to transform the nonlinear heat conduction equation into linear equations.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
