Review on Research Status and Prospects of Two-phase Flow Distribution in Microchannel Heat Exchanger

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2021
The non-uniform distribution of two-phase flow usually happens in a microchannel heat exchanger, which significantly reduces the performance of the microchannel heat exchanger.

Quantum fluctuation theorem for heat exchange in the strong coupling regime [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B, 84, 161414 (2011), 2011
We study quantum heat exchange in a multi-state impurity coupled to two thermal reservoirs. Allowing for strong system-bath interactions, we show that a steady-state heat exchange fluctuation theorem holds, though the dynamical processes nonlinearly involve the two reservoirs.

Artificial Receptor in Synthetic Cells Performs Transmembrane Activation of Proteolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Transmembrane signaling is the hallmark of living cells and is among the highest challenges for the design of synthetic cells. Herein, an artificial receptor based on the chemistry of self‐immolative linkers is used to communicate information across the lipid bilayer, for transmembrane activation of enzymatic activity. Abstract The design of artificial,

Cleaning Schedule Optimization of Heat Exchanger Networks Using Particle Swarm Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Oil refinery is one of industries that require huge energy consumption. The today technology advance requires energy saving. Heat integration is a method used to minimize the energy comsumption though the implementation of Heat Exchanger Network (HEN). CPT is one of types of Heat Exchanger Network (HEN) that functions to recover the heat in the flow of

The influence of heat exchanger design on the synthesis of heat exchanger networks

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2000
Heat exchanger network (HEN) synthesis has been traditionally performed without accounting for a more detailed unit design, which is important since the final HEN may require unfeasible units. Recently, publications on this matter have appeared, as well as softwares that simultaneously perform synthesis and units design.

Elucidating the Supramolecular Interaction of Positively Supercharged Fluorescent Protein with Anionic Phthalocyanines

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Positively supercharged mGreenLatern protein is self‐assembled electrostatically with negatively charged zinc phthalocyanines to yield bio‐based photoactive materials in aqueous media. The addition of phthalocyanines results in the formation of large complexes fully quenching of the protein fluorescence. The results indicate an energy transfer from the

Classical and Quantum Fluctuation Theorems for Heat Exchange [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The statistics of heat exchange between two classical or quantum finite systems initially prepared at different temperatures are shown to obey a fluctuation theorem.

Toward Design Principles for Biomolecular Condensates for Metabolic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates are membrane‐less compartments found through‐out nature which can serve as reaction crucibles for biochemical processes. This review explores the design strategies underlying how condensates can be used in biotechnology to enhance multistep enzyme cascades including enhancement by mass action and substrate channeling, and ...
