Dimensionless scaling of heat-release-induced planar shock waves in near-critical CO2

open access: yes, 2017
We performed highly resolved one-dimensional fully compressible Navier-Stokes simulations of heat-release-induced compression waves in near-critical CO2. The computational setup, inspired by the experimental setup of Miura et al., Phys. Rev.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

OBJECTS OF TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE: EXPERIENCE OF SCIENTIFIC SUPPORT IN CONSTRUCTION WITHIN THE “QUALITY” CONCEPT IMPLEMENTATION

open access: yesВестник СибАДИ, 2019
Introduction. The paper deals with the issues related to the implementation of the “quality” concept in the construction of reinforced concrete transport facilities linked with the scientific support during design and construction.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Numerical simulation of a rarefied gas jet emanating from an ion-optical system of the microthruster [PDF]

open access: yesОмский научный вестник: Серия "Авиационно-ракетное и энергетическое машиностроение"
A jet of ionized rarefied gas escaping from an ion-optical system of a prototype resonator RF-ion thruster into the surrounding space with low background pressure is considered.

Detonation in van der Waals Gas

open access: yesFluids, 2023
Solving problems of detonation control is associated with obtaining detailed information about the gas dynamics accompanying the detonation process. This paper focuses on the dynamics of real gas flow through a plane detonation wave.

Synergistic effects of zinc borate and aluminiumtrihydroxide on flammability behaviour of aerospaceepoxy system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The flame retardancy of mono-component epoxy resin (RTM6), widely used for aerospace composites, treated with zinc borate (ZB), aluminium trihydroxide (ATH) and their mixtures at different concentrations have been investigated by morphological and ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
