Styrenic Nanocomposites Prepared using a Novel Biphenyl-Containing Clay [PDF]
Montmorillonite was organically modified using an ammonium salt containing 4-acetylbiphenyl. This clay (BPNC16 clay) was used to prepare polystyrene (PS), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) and high impact polystyrene (HIPS) nanocomposites ...

Fire reaction of concrete with and without PP fibres: experimenttal analysis and numerical simulation [PDF]
This work investigates the thermal behaviour of concrete samples under controlled test conditions for heat flux (35 kw/m2 and 75 kw/m2) and the validation of a numerical simulation model, by comparison of the temperature measurements in different ...

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Kinetic Analysis of the Thermal Degradation of Polystyrene-Montmorillonite Nanocomposite [PDF]
Nanocomposites exhibit a combination of unique properties, such as increased heat distortion temperature, reduced permeability, reduced flammability and improved mechanical properties.

A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Polystyrene Nanocomposites Based on Quinolinium and Pyridinium Surfactants [PDF]
In this paper pyridine and quinoline-containing salts were employed to modify montmorillonite. TGA analysis shows that the quinolinium modified clay has a higher thermal stability than the pyridinium modified clay.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...
