Heat shock proteins and psoriasis

European Journal of Dermatology, 2019
Psoriasis is a chronic disfiguring skin condition which may be induced or exacerbated by stress. Heat shock proteins (HSPs), as molecular chaperones, play a central role in protein folding and cellular protein homeostasis. The many different functions of HSPs in the cell depend on the specific HSP involved.

Heat Shock Proteins in Cancer

Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2007
Abstract:  Heat shock proteins (Hsps) are highly conserved and inhabit nearly all subcellular locations where they perform a variety of chaperoning functions including folding and unfolding of nascent polypeptides, proteins, transport of proteins, and support of antigen presentation processes.

Heat-Shock Proteins And Development

1987
At the simplest level there is little doubt that the heat shock response is homeostatic, to protect the cell against the ravages of the environmental insult and ensure that the cell can continue its normal life after the crisis has passed.

Heat Shock Proteins in Immunity

2005
This chapter focuses on immunological effects of eukaryotic and microbial heat shock proteins (HSPs), with molecular weights of about 60, 70, and 90 kDa. The search for tumor-specific antigens resulted in the identification of HSPs. They have been found to elicit a potent anti-cancer immune response mediated by the adoptive and innate immune system ...
