Significance of Weissenberg Number, Soret Effect and Multiple Slips on the Dynamic of Biconvective Magnetohydrodynamic Carreau Nanofuid Flow

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
This study focused on the analysis of two-dimensional incompressible magnetohydrodynamic Carreau nanofluid flow across a stretching cylinder containing microorganisms with the impacts of chemical reactions and multiple slip boundary conditions. Moreover,

Multiple slip effects on dissipative and chemical reactive MHD flows over a permeable stretching sheet in the presence of heat source [PDF]

open access: yesSongklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology (SJST), 2023
The present investigation construes an unsteady MHD flow over a permeable stretching sheet embedded in a porous medium. The effects of viscous and Darcy dissipation, heat source and chemical reaction have been delineated with the existence of multiple ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Flow Features of Thermophoretic MHD Viscous Fluid Flow Past a Converging Channel with Heat Source and Chemical Reaction

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2021
A boundary layer flow of an electrically conducting viscous fluid past a converging channel in the presence of thermophoresis, heat source, chemical reaction, viscous dissipation and simultaneous heat and mass transfer characteristics is studied in the ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
