A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Magnetohydrodynamic water-based hybrid nanofluid flow comprising diamond and copper nanoparticles on a stretching sheet with slips constraints

open access: yesOpen Physics
Hybrid nanofluid problems are used for augmentation of thermal transportation in various industrial applications. Therefore, the present problem is studied for the heat and mass transportation features of hybrid nanofluid caused by extending surface ...

Gas Emissions in Combustion of Biofuel

open access: yesActa Technologica Agriculturae, 2014
Nowadays, biomass or more precisely biofuel is more and more being exploited as a substitute for fossil fuels for heating as well as for example for heating a drying environment.

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Plane Strain Deformation In A Thermoelastic Microelongated Solid With Internal Heat Source

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2015
The purpose of this paper is to study the two dimensional deformation due to an internal heat source in a thermoelastic microelongated solid. A mechanical force is applied along an overlaying elastic layer of thickness h .

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Modeling and heat transfer analysis of magnetized hybrid micropolar blood-based nanofluid flow in Darcy–Forchheimer porous stenosis narrow arteries

open access: yesOpen Physics
This article provides a concise comparative examination of how heat generation affects the flow of a magnetized micropolar blood-based hybrid nanofluid (HNF) via a stenotic artery. The effects of Joule heating and viscous dissipation are considered.

Influence of Heat Sources and Relaxation Time on Temperature Distribution in Tissues

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 2014
In the present study, the temperature fluctuations in tissues based on Penne’s bio-heat transfer equation is investigated by applying the Laplace and Hankel transforms.
