Some characteristics of the resultant air flow from motions induced by ventilation and heat source in a two-dimensional enclosure

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics, 2015
Ventilated air flow in an enclosure is often unsteady (turbulent) at even very low Reynolds number (Re). Meantime natural convection in a box is stationary motion at large enough Rayleigh number (Ra).

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Thermal Radiation on Mixed Convective Flow in a Porous Cavity: Numerical Simulation

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2018
In this paper, the influence of mixed convection in a porous square enclosure under the effect of radiation is numerically examined. The top and bottom walls are maintained at uniform temperature θc while some portion of the vertical walls is partially ...

Thermoelastic interactions in a hollow cylinder due to a continuous heat source without energy dissipation

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
The linear generalized Green–Naghdi thermoelasticity theory without energy dissipation is employed. The study of thermoelastic interactions in a hollow cylinder under a continuous heat source is carried out.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

A Priori Modeling of the Acoustic Boundary Layer Effect on the Heat Source in Ultrasound

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Science and Engineering, 2012
A reduced-order model is proposed to provide effective boundary conditions accounting for a vortical fluid velocity confined in an Acoustic Boundary Layer (ABL) around a linear elastic solid object subjected to an ultrasound wave.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.
