Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A mouse model for vascular normalization and a human breast cancer cohort were studied to understand the relationship between vascular leakage and tumor immune suppression. For this, endothelial and immune cell RNAseq, staining for vascular function, and immune cell profiling were employed.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Numerical evaluation of heat transfer enhancement due to annular electroconvection induced by injection in a dielectric liquid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Two-dimensional numerical simulations are carried out to evaluate the enhancement of natural convection heat transfer in a dielectric liquid resulting from injection induced annular electro-convection.

Enhanced Condensation Heat Transfer

open access: yesJSME International Journal Series B, 2006
The paper gives some personal observations on various aspects of enhanced condensation heat transfer. The topics discussed are external condensation (horizontal low-finned tubes and wire-wrapped tubes), internal condensation (microfin tubes and microchannels) and Marangoni condensation of binary mixtures.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Numerical Study on Flow and Heat Transfer Performance of Rectangular Heat Sink with Compound Heat Transfer Enhancement Structures

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2014
Modern gas turbine blade is operating at high temperature which requires abundant cooling. Considering both heat transfer rate and pumping power for internal passages, developing efficient cooling passages is of great importance.

Experimental investigation of heat transfer in a tube heat exchanger with airfoil-shaped insert

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2019
In this present study, the novel insert for heat exchanger is presented. The airfoil-shaped insert, Modified NACA0024, is chosen to improve the heat transfer performance in the tube.

Natural convection in high temperature flat plate latent heat thermal energy storage systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The impact of natural convection on melting in high temperature flat plate latent heat thermal energy storage systems is studied with an experimentally validated numerical model in a parameter study with various widths and heights of enclosure dimensions.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...
