EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF PERSPECTIVE METHODS OF HEAT TRANSFER INTENSIFICATION IN A TUBULAR HEAT EXCHANGER

open access: yesИзвестия Томского политехнического университета: Инжиниринг георесурсов, 2020
The relevance of the research is caused by the need to increase the intensity of heat transfer in tube heat exchangers of the chemical and petrochemical industries.

The Shewanella oneidensis Fic enzyme SoFic targets the switch‐I region of EF‐Tu for AMPylation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fic enzymes mediate diverse post‐translational modifications across all domains of life, including AMPylation. Prokaryotic EF‐Tu can be AMPylated and deAMPylated by the conserved Fic enzyme SoFic. Structural and biochemical approaches were used to characterize the effect of AMPylation on EF‐Tu, SoFic's enzymatic activities, and the enzyme‐target ...

Intensification of Convective Heat Transfer in Heating Device of Mobile Heating System with BH-Heat Generator

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика, 2013
Directions pertaining to intensification of convective heat transfer in a soft heating device have been experimentally investigated  in the paper and the most efficient one has been selected that is creation of artificial roughness on the device surface.

Entropy Analysis of the Thermal Convection of Nanosuspension within a Chamber with a Heat-Conducting Solid Fin

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
Heat transport augmentation in closed chambers can be achieved using nanofluids and extended heat transfer surfaces. This research is devoted to the computational analysis of natural convection energy transport and entropy emission within a closed region,

Artificial molecular machines and motors—Design and control of nanoscale motion

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Molecules are constantly moving because of thermal fluctuations, but random motion alone cannot be exploited to perform directional tasks. Artificial molecular machines use chemical, electrical, or light energy to bias this motion. Molecular shuttles, rotary motors, and supramolecular pumps illustrate how nanoscale movement can be controlled and ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Analysis of Influence of Nanoparticle Properties on Nanofluid Thermomagnetic Convection Through Modification of System of Forces

open access: yesEnergies
The tendency to design compact systems results in limited space for particular components and heat transfer processes, which influences the removal of heat. Therefore, new methods for heat transfer intensification are being designed. Coupling passive and

Intensification of heat transfer between heat exchange surfaces at low RE values

open access: yesChemical and Process Engineering, 2015
This contribution deals with the heat transfer parameters and pressure losses in heat exchange sets with six geometrical arrangements at low Re values (Re from 476 to 2926). Geometrical arrangements were characterised by the h/H ratio ranging from 0.2 to

Mechanism and behavior of nucleate boiling heat transfer to the alkalai liquid metals [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
A model of boiling heat transfer to the alkali liquid metals is postulated from an examination of the events and phases of the nucleate boiling cycle. The model includes the important effect of microlayer evaporation which causes a wave of temperature ...

Heat transfer in flat-plate boundary layers: a correlation for laminar, transitional, and turbulent flow

open access: yes, 2020
The laminar and turbulent regimes of a boundary layer on a flat plate are often represented with separate correlations under the assumption of a distinct “transition Reynolds number.” Average heat coefficients are then calculated by integrating across ...
