A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Forced convection flow over a moving porous and non-uniform cylinder of variable thickness
Forced convection flow of viscous fluid over a moving, porous, and heated cylinder of variable thickness is studied in this paper. The non-uniform cylinder is placed vertically in a quiescent fluid.

Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Measurement of mean fields in the intermediate wake of a heated cylinder
Measurements are made by a newly designed high-precision thermo-anemometer in the wake of a heated cylinder of D=0.013 and 0.030 m. The purpose of this work is to make clear the effects of cylinder heating on the mean field in the wake.

Numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer around vertical cylinder submerged in water [PDF]
Natural convection flows around submerged heated cylinders have gained attention in recent years due to their use in many engineering applications such as flow around tubes and rods (as in nuclear reactors and spent fuel cooling ponds).

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Melt compounding with graphene to develop functional, high-performance elastomers [PDF]
Rather than using graphene oxide, which is limited by a high defect concentration and cost due to oxidation and reduction, we adopted cost-effective, 3.56 nm thick graphene platelets (GnPs) of high structural integrity to melt compound with an elastomer ...
