Determination of THC and THC‐COOH in Dried Capillary Blood Spots and Comparison to Venous Blood of Recreational Cannabis Consumers in a Pilot Study

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
A new extraction method was developed and validated for the extraction of THC and THC‐COOH from capillary blood samples collected as dried blood spots. The extracts were analysed using HPLC–MS/MS resulting in high extraction efficiencies for both THC and THC‐COOH.

Forecasting heart failure: Seasonal alignment of heart failure outcomes in New York

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 819-831, April 2025.
Abstract Background Seasonal variations have been observed in heart failure (HF) hospitalization. Numerous explanatory mechanisms have been proposed, but no prior studies have examined potential contributors directly. Our objective was to identify specific factors that could contribute to seasonal variability using a large longitudinal dataset of HF ...

Optimizing outcomes in intrauterine insemination: A narrative synthesis of two decades of clinical research (2000–2024)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a widely used first‐line fertility treatment, yet its success rates vary considerably. This review synthesizes evidence from peer‐reviewed studies published between 2000 and 2024, including randomized controlled trials, cohort and case–control studies, as well as systematic and narrative reviews identified ...

Numerical Study on Heat Transfer and Release Characteristics of Key Components in Electrically Heated Tobacco Products

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering
Electrically heated tobacco products (EHTPs) could release effective aerosol components from tobacco materials at relatively low temperatures without a burning phenomenon. It is essential to grasp the temperature distribution and release mechanism of key

Comprehensive DIA‐MS Proteomics of Root Basal Nodes Elucidates Mechanisms of Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil salinity severely affects rice growth, yield, and quality, posing a global food security challenge. Rice is particularly vulnerable to high salinity, which restricts growth and tolerance to other stresses. To address this, breeding efforts have been made in the past, leading to the generation of multi‐stress‐tolerant rice lines.

A national crop wild relative checklist for Zimbabwe reveals edible crop wild relative diversity of regional and global importance

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Crop wild relatives (CWR) in Zimbabwe are reservoirs of beneficial agronomic traits, yet they remain under‐documented and poorly conserved. This study developed Zimbabwe's first national CWR checklist based on a conceptual framework combining floristic, ecological and ethnobotanical data, revealing over 2700 taxa, with nearly 1000 edible species ...
