MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Canada - Heating Degree-Days

open access: yes, 1981
Contained within the 5th Edition (1978 to 1995) of the National Atlas of Canada is a map that shows the annual sum of heating degree days (an indicator of building heating needs). Data for period 1941 to 1970. Companion sheet to Frost-Free Period, Growing Degree-Days, Last Frost in Spring and First Frost in Autumn.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Assessment the Effects of Climate Change on the Degree of Heating and Cooling Days of Iran [PDF]

open access: yesجغرافیا و پایداری محیط, 2017
Energy, as one of the most important environmental and economic sustainable development indices, is affected by the conditions of climate change. In addition, they are considered as the main factors of increase or decrease of fuel consumption and energy ...

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

An energy consumption rectification method based on Bayesian linear regression and heating degree‐days

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
The time‐varying external environment is one of the main variables influencing heating energy consumptions, so that its influence should be rectified when energy savings of different heating modes are calculated. This paper proposes an energy consumption

Interaction between climate factors and air quality in three Norwegian cities: A machine learning analysis

open access: yesAtmospheric Environment: X
This study examines the interaction between climate factors and air quality in three Norwegian cities, addressing the gap in which policymakers often analyze air quality and climate change in isolation.

Application of time series models for heating degree day forecasting

open access: yesOrganization, Technology and Management in Construction: An International Journal, 2020
This study aims at constructing short-term forecast models by analyzing the patterns of the heating degree day (HDD). In this context, two different time series analyses, namely the decomposition and Box–Jenkins methods, were conducted.
