Modeling of skin tissue heating using the generalized dual phase-lag equation
This paper concerns the numerical modeling of skin tissue heating. To describe the analyzed process the system of three generalized dual phase-lag equations corresponding to the successive layers of the skin: epidermis, dermis and sub-cutaneous region is

Low-temperature bonding of temperature-resistant electronic connections [PDF]
Bonding of flat metal surfaces utilizes low temperature melting intermediate material, pulse heating, and pressure application to produce strong, electrically conductive bond resistant to melting at temperatures well above melting point of intermediate ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Heating influence on hierarchical structures fabricated by direct laser interference patterning
The combination of direct laser interference patterning (DLIP) with laser-induced periodic surface structures (LIPSS) enables the fabrication of functional surfaces reported for a wide spectrum of materials. The process throughput is usually increased by

Diffusion technique for lithium-doped silicon [PDF]
Sample is doped by constructing a sandwich of five slices of silicon with lithium dopant deposited on the outside surfaces of the second and fourth slices and placing the sample in the middle. Upon heating, the lithium diffuses through the carrier slices

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.
