Revealing the Hemispherical Shielding Effect of SiO2@Ag Composite Nanospheres to Improve the Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering Performance

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Many studies widely used SiO2@Ag composite nanospheres for surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), which mainly contributes to electromagnetic enhancement.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

FRACTIONATION OF HEAVY HYDROGEN ISOTOPES IN DYNAMICAL SYSTEMS

open access: yesГеохімія техногенезу, 2019
The possibility of using mineral adsorbents for cleaning the moderator of heavy water reactors from tritium is determined. Three dynamic systems have been created using montmorilonite, sepiolite and palygorskite clays, and zeolite (systems M-Z, S-Z and P-

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Frequency distributions and hydroclimatic characteristics of heavy rainstorms in Illinois [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
This report presents the results of an extensive investigation of the distribution of heavy rainstorms in Illinois based on data for 61 precipitation stations operated during 1901-1983.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

New Insights into Heavy Metal Sequestration Through Metal‐Phenolic Network‐Confined Nano‐HFO: Overlooking Iron Utilization and Modulating Electron Density

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Reducing toxic metal concentrations to trace levels remains a critical challenge in water remediation, largely due to the underutilization of hydrous ferric oxide (HFO), particularly within its inner layers. Herein, we present a novel strategy to enhance

Preparation of graphene-carboxymethyl cellulose composite aerogel and evaluation of oil absorption performance

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2022
With graphite oxide (GO) as the main raw material, combining with carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), hydrothermal reduction combined ice template method was used to prepare graphene/carboxymethyl cellulose composite aerogel (HGA/CMC), through drying under ...

Microbial diversity in heavy-metal polluted waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Indigenious water microflora as well as the presence of metal- and xenobiotic biotransforming bacteria were investigated in waters near the KCM Pb-Zn smelter, South Bulgaria.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
