Reanalysis Data Sets Underestimate the 1928–29 Summer Precipitation Deficits During the Late‐1920s Megadrought in Northern China

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 11, 16 June 2025.
Abstract Numerous tree‐ring and historical records indicate a megadrought in the Loess Plateau (LP) of northern China during 1928–29, yet its dynamical causes remain unclear. This study reconstructs LP summer precipitation from 1901 to 2000 using multiple paleoclimate proxies to assess precipitation and reanalysis data sets.

Developing Guidelines for Two-Dimensional Model Review and Acceptance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Two independent modelers ran two hydraulic models, SRH-2D and HEC-RAS 2D. The models were applied to the Lakina River (MP 44 McCarthy Road) and to Quartz Creek (MP 0.7 Quartz Creek Road), which approximately represent straight and bend flow conditions ...

Analysis of Flood Inundation Area using HEC-RAS/GIS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Environmental Sciences, 2004
The purpose of the study was to construct a forecast system of flood inundation area at natural stream channels. The study built the system to interpret the flood inundation area in four stages ; constructing topography data around the stream channel, interpreting flood discharge, interpreting flood elevation in the stream channel, and interpreting the

KDM6A Deficiency Induces Myeloid Bias and Promotes CMML‐Like Disease Through JAK/STAT3 Activation by Repressing SOCS3

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 21, June 5, 2025.
Lysine demethylase 6A (KDM6A), an epigenetic regulator expressed in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), plays a critical role in hematopoietic homeostasis. Deficiency of KDM6A induces myeloid lineage skewing and drives the development of a chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML)‐like disease.

A Bare‐Earth GoogleDEM to Simulate Flooding in New Delhi, India

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Accurate flood mapping in urban environments remains a critical yet challenging task. The primary challenge lies in the accuracy of widely available topographic data, a key constraint when employing hydrodynamic models for large‐scale inundation mapping.

Modelling Resilience to Floods in Art Cities: A Historical Perspective

open access: yesJournal of Flood Risk Management, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Art cities are characterized by peculiar exposure and vulnerability aspects which are rarely addressed in flood risk studies. This works investigates art cities in terms of exposure and resilience by considering the effects of cultural heritage.
