Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.).

Methods in molecular biology, 2015
Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) is still considered as a recalcitrant species to in vitro culture and transformation in spite of the publication of different protocols. Here we describe a routine transformation system of this crop which requires mature HA89 genotype seeds and Agrobacterium tumefaciens EHA105 strain for gene delivery, being both easily

Genomic alterations in the interspecific hybrid Helianthus annuus×Helianthus tuberosus

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1998
The genome of a Helianthus annuus (2n=34) ×Helianthus tuberosus (2n=102) hybrid was studied at cytological, biochemical and molecular levels and compared to those of the parental species. Cytophotometric analyses showed that the hybrid has a 4C DNA content higher than expected and with a larger variability than in the parents.

Organogenesis and embryogenesis inHelianthus tuberosus and in the interspecific hybridHelianthus annuus ×Helianthus tuberosus

Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1993
A method of plant regeneration from cotyledons ofHelianthus tuberosus, Helianthus annuus ×Helianthus tuberosus and for the backcross of the interspecific hybrids onH. annuus was developed. Induction of somatic embryogenesis and plantlet regeneration from anther culture of the interspecific hybridsH. annuus ×H. tuberosus is reported.

Constituents of Helianthus ciliaris

Phytochemistry, 1972
Abstract A new diterpene, 7-α-hydroxy-4-epitrachylobanic acid, has been isolated from Helianthus ciliaris DC. No sesquiterpene lactones were found in this plant.

Comparison of seed and seedling functional traits in native Helianthus species and the crop H. annuus (sunflower).

Plant biology, 2018
Seed functional traits of native Helianthus species contribute towards ecosystem services but limitations to their use in managed programmes exist. Many perennial Helianthus possess seed dormancy.

Germacranolides in Helianthus mollis

Phytochemistry, 1979
Abstract Desacetyleupaserrin, eupaserrin and two new germacranolides, mollisorin-A and mollisorin-B, were isolated from H. mollis . 1 H NMR and 13 C NMR data and chemical interconversions of the four germacranolides are described.
