Surface texture produced by peripheral milling with helical end mills

open access: yes
An investigation of the surface texture produced by peripheral milling with end mills has been made. Theoretical relationships are presented to predict the theoretical cusp height and approximate the arithmetical average surface roughness based on the geometrical considerations of a circular tooth path.

Neural correlates of resilience to trauma during adolescence: A multi‐modal study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Understanding resilience mechanisms is important for advancing early intervention strategies, yet research on the neurobiology of resilience in adolescents is limited. The present study examined the brain structural and resting‐state functional connectivity (rsFC) correlates of resilience to internalizing and externalizing symptoms ...

Improved Use of the Full Length of Milling-Tool Flutes in Processes of Air-Contour Milling

open access: yesJournal of Manufacturing and Materials Processing
The cutting length of milling tools must be longer than the axial distance of the material to be processed. In fact, in most cases, the cutting length far exceeds the thickness of the material to be removed.

Wheat flour particle size: Influence of mill design and effects on quality and performance

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Among the various characteristics of wheat (Triticum aestivum) flour, particle size is of paramount importance globally. The industrial process of separating the three main components (endosperm, bran, and germ) must ensure that the desired quality is delivered to customers through a progressive reduction in the size of the endosperm until the

Food quality profile of fermented cassava dough: A tool for the value chain upgrading

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Agbelima is a fermented cassava mash, which is then cooked into dough. The key quality attributes are color, odor, stretchability, and sour taste. To succeed in upgrading agbelima value chain, there is a need to determine the instrumental parameters that predict the quality of consumer‐preferred attributes of the final product. This

A hybrid analytical and discrete based methodology to calculate path scallop of helical toroidal cutter in five-axis milling [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions, 2018
This paper presents a new method to calculate path scallop height of toroidal cutter during free-form surface machining in five-axis milling. The scallop height was defined as the distance between the tool intersection point and the normal point on the ...
