Integrated Concentrating Solar/Photovoltaic Hybrid Concepts—Technological Discussion, Energy Yield, and Cost Considerations

Four concepts for the integrated combination of photovoltaics and CST plants are discussed and compared regarding energy production and investment cost. It is estimated that the additional annual energy yield due to the use of the concepts may be as high as 40% using the same aperture area.
