Physiological, Diurnal and Stress-Related Variability of Cadmium-Metallothionein Gene Expression in Land Snails.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
The terrestrial Roman snail Helix pomatia has successfully adapted to strongly fluctuating conditions in its natural soil habitat. Part of the snail's stress defense strategy is its ability to express Metallothioneins (MTs).

Multianalyte Approach—Including Automated Preparation of Calibrators—for Validated Quantification of 82 Drugs in Whole Blood by Liquid Chromatography–Tandem Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesDrug Testing and Analysis, Volume 17, Issue 7, Page 954-988, July 2025.
In forensic bioanalysis, often multianalyte approaches are used given their increased effectiveness but can be difficult to develop and maintain in the laboratory, for example, in terms of calibrator solution preparation. A fast, simple, and robust liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) method for the quantification of 82 classic ...

Evaluation of the Relationship Between Thyroid Hormone Levels and Bisphenol A in Children Aged 6−14 Years

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, Volume 103, Issue 1, Page 97-105, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The incidence of hypothyroidism in childhood is increasing. This study aimed to investigate the potential role of exposure to bisphenol A, an environmental endocrine disruptor, and its substitutes in the development of hypothyroidism.

Evaluation of bigano snail (Stramonita haemastoma) as a seafood resource

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 56, Issue 3, June 2025.
Abstract Bigano snail, Stramonita haemastoma, commonly known as oyster drill or red‐mouthed rock whelks, has gained growing interest as a potential seafood product. However, to date, there is a notable lack of preliminary evaluation regarding its commercial viability.

Evaluation of Integrin Glycovariants as Biomarkers of Metastasis, Invasion, and Therapy Stratification in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 9, May 2025.
There are scarce data about integrin glycosylation in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. In this study, glycosylation of ITGA2, ITGA3, ITGA5, ITGA6, ITGB1, and ITGB4 was investigated in intraoperative tissue samples using lectin‐bioaffinity assays.

Study of toxicness of snails meat on biological model

open access: yesНауковий вісник Львівського національного університету ветеринарної медицини та біотехнологій імені С.З. Ґжицького: Серія Ветеринарні науки, 2019
Snails can be found in any part of the planet. They belong to the class of gastropods, which includes terrestrial, freshwater, marine snails. Their ancestors are some of the most ancient species of the fauna.

Texture tomography with high angular resolution utilizing sparsity

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 484-494, April 2025.
This article reports non‐destructive 3D texture mapping of a wide range of polycrystalline materials using synchrotron X‐rays and utilizing the sparsity of the reconstructed texture. We demonstrate an approach to the reconstruction of scanning probe X‐ray diffraction tomography data with anisotropic polycrystalline samples.

Efflux and uptake transport and gut microbial reactivation of raloxifene glucuronides

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 136, Issue 1, January 2025.
The enterohepatic recycling of raloxifene likely results from the interplay of gut microbial β‐glucuronidases (GUS) and drug transporters expressed in the intestine and the liver. The efflux transporters MRP2 and MRP3 and the uptake transporters OATP1B1, OATP1B3 and OATP2B1 appear to mediate the transport of raloxifene glucuronides in enterocytes and ...

Acute GARP Depletion Disrupts Vesicle Transport, Leading to Severe Defects in Sorting, Secretion and O‐Glycosylation

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 26, Issue 1-3, January/March 2025.
Cartoon illustrating defects caused by GARP dysfunction. (Left) Control cells exhibit normal Golgi morphology with a stratified distribution of enzymes and trafficking machinery. (Right) Following acute VPS54 depletion, vesicle numbers increase, the trans‐Golgi enlarges, endosome‐Golgi trafficking proteins mislocalize to vesicles, and Golgi association
