A Rapid Review Contrasting the Evidence on Avian Influenza A(H5Nx) Clades 2.3.4.4b and 2.3.2.1c in Humans

open access: yesZoonoses and Public Health, Volume 72, Issue 7, Page 553-586, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Avian influenza viruses (AIV) circulate in wild and domestic bird populations, posing an on‐going risk for zoonotic transmission and virus adaptation to mammals and humans. The A(H5Nx) clades 2.3.2.1c and 2.3.4.4b currently circulating have caused sporadic infections in humans.

Localized Delivery of the mRNAs Encoding CD47 Inhibitor and Interleukins 12, 15, and 21 Elicits Robust Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
The co‐delivery of mRNAs encoding a CD47 inhibitor and a cytokine cocktail (interleukins 12, 15, and 21) via lipid nanoparticles enables effective localized immunotherapy. This strategy not only suppresses tumor progression but also enhances type 1 conventional dendritic cell (cDC1) differentiation and activates CD8+ T cells, thereby inducing robust ...

API5 Phosphorylation Promotes Antiviral Immunity by Inhibiting Degradation of Cytosolic RNA Sensor RLRs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
Ubiquitin‐mediated selective autophagy plays a critical role in antiviral innate immunity. The study shows that upon RNA virus infection, cytoplasmic API5 undergoes SRPK1‐dependent phosphorylation at S464, which in turn suppresses p62 K141 ubiquitination‐dependent autophagy.

Accurizing the Cause of Stillbirth Reviewed Under Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response System Through Minimally Invasive Tissue Sampling: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Stillbirth is a public health challenge to low‐ and middle‐income countries, and the rate of stillbirths in Nepal is 15.7 per 1000 births. Stillbirths are reviewed under the maternal and perinatal death surveillance and response (MPDSR) system in Nepal, where the causes of deaths and preventive strategies should be identified, but there are ...

Pulmonary Hydatid Cyst Mimicking Both Tuberculous Cavity and Aspergilloma: A Diagnostic Challenge in an Endemic Region

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Cystic echinococcosis (CE), caused by Echinococcus granulosus, is a zoonotic disease endemic in many pastoral regions. Pulmonary involvement, although less common than hepatic, may present with nonspecific respiratory symptoms and mimic other pathologies such as tuberculosis, posing a diagnostic challenge.

Prognostic Value of a Novel Model for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Patients Undergoing Transarterial Chemoembolization

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 39, Issue 19, October 2025.
A prognosis model (PI score), which consisted of neutrophil‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR), γ‐glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), alpha‐fetoprotein (AFP), and TNM stage, was constructed. The PI score had excellent predictive value for HCC patients undergoing TACE and was superior to TNM and BCLC.
