[Hematologic neoplasms and pregnancy].
Hematologic neoplasms diagnosed during pregnancy, present significant difficulties in patient management. Besides the strictly medical facts, moral, ethical and religious issues should be strongly considered. For the optimal management of individual situations an integrated multidisciplinary approach is mandatory.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Chromatin Regulation by HP1γ Contributes to Survival of 5-Azacytidine-Resistant Cells
Recent investigations of the treatment for hematologic neoplasms have focused on targeting epigenetic regulators. The DNA methyltransferase inhibitor 5-azacytidine (AZA) has produced good results in the treatment of patients with myelodysplastic ...

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Differential Effects of Turmeric (Curcuma longa) and Ginger (Zingiber officinale) Extracts on Malignant and Normal Hematopoietic Cells in the Bone Marrow Microenvironment [PDF]
Natural compounds are increasingly investigated for their potential as complementary therapies in hematologic malignancies. In this study, we examined ethanol extracts of turmeric (Curcuma longa) and ginger (Zingiber officinale) rhizomes, two ...
