Oral manifestations and dental management of patient with leukocyte alterations [PDF]
Leukocytes are the main cellular elements of inflammatory and immune reactions of the organism. Leukocyte alterations are the consequence of an imbalance between the formation of leukocytes in the bone marrow and its elimination by the mononuclear ...

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.

Diagnostic Challenges of CD4+/CD56+/CD123+ hematological neoplasms [PDF]
In the January/February 2013 edition, Maio et al describe a patient with CD4/CD56/CD123 ascribed as blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasia (BDCN). However, since CD4/CD56/CD123 neoplasms are highly heterogeneous, the precise diagnosis requires an extensive immunophenotypic panel. 3 Although highly suggestive, the cytochemical positivity for CD4,

A comprehensive microarray-based DNA methylation study of 367 hematological neoplasms [PDF]
Background: Alterations in the DNA methylation pattern are a hallmark of leukemias and lymphomas. However, most epigenetic studies in hematologic neoplasms (HNs) have focused either on the analysis of few candidate genes or many genes and few HN entities,

Developmental Disorders in Children Recently Diagnosed With Cancer
ABSTRACT Neurocognitive deficits in adult survivors of childhood cancer are well established, but less is known about developmental disorders (DD) arising shortly after cancer diagnosis. Using 2016–2019 linked Ohio cancer registry and Medicaid data, we compared DD among 324 children with cancer and 606,913 cancer‐free controls.
