Parkinsonism, dystonia, and hemiatrophy
Movement Disorders, 2000Hemiatrophy has been reported in association with a variety of neurologic conditions, including parkinsonism. Patients with the hemiparkinson-hemiatrophy syndrome (HP-HA) have asymmetric parkinsonism with limb atrophy on the more affected side. Several authors have suggested that asymmetric brain damage early in life results in both atrophy and ...

MR of craniocerebral hemiatrophy
Clinical Imaging, 1992The magnetic resonance (MR) findings of three patients with cerebral hemiatrophy, the so-called Dyke-Davidoff-Masson syndrome, which is characterized by variable degrees of unilateral loss of cerebral volume and compensatory changes of the calvarium are presented. The condition was due to middle cerebral artery stroke in all patients.

Hemiparkinsonism-hemiatrophy syndrome
Neurology, 2007To characterize the clinical and radiologic features of hemiparkinsonism-hemiatrophy syndrome (HPHA).Medical records of patients with evidence of unilateral parkinsonism and ipsilateral body atrophy, evaluated at the Baylor College of Medicine Movement Disorders Clinic, were reviewed. The mean age at onset of the 30 patients who satisfied the criteria ...

Surgical Neurology, 1987
There are very few recorded instances of brain tumors with ipsilateral secondary brain atrophy. All 10 cases in the literature are from Japan. We report a case of primary cerebral hemiatrophy with ipsilateral glioblastoma. As far as we are aware, no such case has been described in the literature.

Hemiparkinsonism with hemiatrophy
Neurology, 1988We studied fifteen patients with hemiparkinsonism and ipsilateral hemiatrophy (HP/HA) to better characterize the clinical features of this syndrome and its rate of progression. Patients were distinguished by highly asymmetric parkinsonism with predominant signs on the side of HA, early age of onset (43.7 years versus 60.2 years in our control ...
