Fungal Cellulase and Hemicellulase Prediction of Forage Digestibility

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1975
An enzymatic procedure using Trichoderma viride carbohydrases, a fungal hemicellulase, and pepsin was developed to provide a laboratory method for predicting forage digestibility. The amount of forage dry matter solubilized by enzymes and incubation buffer was less than that in vivo or by in vitro fermentation by rumen microorganisms.

Multi‐Organ Approaches to Cultivated Meat Biomanufacturing: Conceptual Applications of Ruminal Fermentation and Co‐Cultures

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Current academic research and industrial processes for cultivated meat production primarily utilize cultures of single cell types (monocultures) that do not capture the complexity of the in vivo environment of muscle and fatty tissues in the body.

Tetraopes Milkweed Beetle Genomes Elucidate the Adaptive Basis of a Temperate Coevolutionary Radiation

open access: yesMolecular Ecology Resources, Volume 26, Issue 3, April 2026.
ABSTRACT The coevolutionary radiation of 27 species of Tetraopes longhorned beetles and their Asclepias milkweed hosts represents a classic example of adaptive evolution driven by plant chemical defences and herbivore counteradaptations. Investigations to date, however, have focused on a single species, Tetraopes tetrophthalmus, which feeds on the ...

The role of rumen fungi in fiber digestion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Since the anaerobic rumen fungi were discovered in the rumen of a sheep over two decades ago, they have been reported in a wide range of herbivores fed on high fibre diets.

Structural genomics analysis of uncharacterized protein families overrepresented in human gut bacteria identifies a novel glycoside hydrolase. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
BackgroundBacteroides spp. form a significant part of our gut microbiome and are well known for optimized metabolism of diverse polysaccharides. Initial analysis of the archetypal Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron genome identified 172 glycosyl hydrolases and

Influence of the technological helpers used in the olive oil elaboration process on the kinetics of the anaerobic digestion of olive mill wastewater

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 1992
A kinetic study of the anaerobic digestion of olive mill wastewater, which was obtained with the technological helper "Olivex" (Carbohydrase -pectinases, cellulases and hemicellulases- from the Aspergillus aculeatus) was carried out.

Secretome data from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger cultivated in submerged and sequential fermentation methods

open access: yesData in Brief, 2016
The cultivation procedure and the fungal strain applied for enzyme production may influence levels and profile of the proteins produced. The proteomic analysis data presented here provide critical information to compare proteins secreted by Trichoderma ...

Enzymes and wine – the enhanced quality and yield [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Enzymes are a natural and fundamental element of the winemaking process. These enzymes originate from the grape, yeasts and other microbes associated with vineyards and wine cellars.
