Extracorporeal blood purification in the complex treatment of the novel coronavirus infection: the review of opportunities

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2020
The objective: to provide pathogenetic justification for the need for extracorporeal blood purification in the new coronavirus infection. Results: the article analyzes guidelines and the first experience of using extracorporeal methods in the new ...

A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial of High Cutoff Versus Standard Hemofiltration in Critically Ill Patients With Acute Kidney Injury

open access: yesCritical Care Medicine, 2018
Objectives: In critically ill patients with acute kidney injury receiving vasopressors, high cytokine levels may sustain the shock state. High cutoff hemofiltration achieves greater cytokine removal in ex vivo and in animal models and may reduce the ...

Determinants of Intradialytic Phosphate Removal in Hemodiafiltration From Real‐World Clinical Practice

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
We show that convective therapy in the form of hemodiafiltration does not demonstrate a measurable effect on phosphate removal in a real‐world setting. On the other hand, session duration is the most important factor in determining phosphate removal in hemodialysis patients.

Catheter related blood stream infections in critically ill patients with continuous haemo(dia)filtration and temporary non-tunnelled vascular access

open access: yesSwiss Medical Weekly, 2011
This prospective, single centre, observational study analysed the rate of catheter related blood stream infections in critically ill patients in intensive care units treated with haemo(dia)filtration. The infection rate was 3.8 per 1000 patient days.

Resolution of Noncardiogenic Pulmonary Oedema and Suspected Uraemic Pneumonitis in a Dog With Acute Kidney Injury Treated by Haemodialysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2026.
Noncardiogenic pulmonary oedema (suspected uraemic pneumonitis) secondary to acute kidney injury in a dog. This case suggests that noncardiogenic pulmonary oedema may have been triggered by uraemia and systemic inflammation, and that haemodialysis may have contributed to pulmonary recovery by alleviating the uraemic condition.

Octreotide and Continuous Hemofiltration versus Continuous Hemofiltration Alone in Severe Acute Pancreatitis Complicated with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome.

open access: yesJournal of the College of Physicians and Surgeons--Pakistan : JCPSP, 2019
The objective of this study was to compare effects of octreotide and continuous hemofiltration versus continuous hemofiltration alone in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) complicated with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Pulse High Volume Hemofiltration [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Journal of Artificial Organs, 2004
The sepsis syndrome is the most common cause of acute renal failure and multiple organ dysfunction in critically ill subjects and continues to have an alarmingly high mortality. Normal immune homeostasis is interrupted by a complex storm of inflammatory mediators responsible for the deleterious effects. Extracorporeal blood purification techniques can

Hemofiltration Successfully Eliminates Severe Cytokine Release Syndrome Following CD19 CAR-T-Cell Therapy

open access: yesJournal of immunotherapy, 2018
Cytokine release syndrome (CRS) remains to be a major adverse effect of chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell therapy in B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) and lymphoma. It was urgent to explore novel strategy for managing severe CRS.

Restrictive Versus Standard Intravenous Fluid Therapy and Endothelial Glycocalyx Shedding in ICU Patients With Septic Shock—A Preplanned Sub‐Study of the Randomized CLASSIC Trial

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Shedding of the endothelial glycocalyx may be a pathophysiological mechanism in septic shock, to which intravenous (IV) fluid therapy may contribute. We aimed to investigate the effects of restrictive versus standard IV fluid therapy on glycocalyx shedding in adult intensive care unit (ICU) patients with septic shock.

Methods of Extracorporeal Hemocorrection in Sepsis (Review)

open access: yesОбщая реаниматология, 2023
Sepsis and septic shock remain a major problem in critical care medicine being the most common causes of death in the intensive care unit. Currently, such methods of extracorporeal blood purification as hemodiafiltration, high-volume hemofiltration, high
