Biocide Response of Candida auris

open access: yesMycoses, Volume 69, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Candida auris is an emerging multidrug‐resistant yeast demonstrating remarkable persistence in healthcare environments, contributing to nosocomial transmission and outbreak persistence. Increasing disinfectant failure reports have raised concerns regarding infection control policies, as environmental reservoirs play central roles in its spread.

Lectin, hemolysin and protease inhibitors in seed fractions with ovicidal activity against Haemonchus contortus

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Parasitologia Veterinária
Bioactive molecules of plant species are promising alternatives for the chemical control of gastrointestinal nematodes in ruminants. Extracts of native and exotic seed species from Brazil's semi-arid region were tested in vitro in an egg hatch assay and ...

Staphylococcal leukocidin and .GAMMA.-hemolysin.

open access: yesNippon Saikingaku Zasshi, 1997

Properties of Purified Pneumococcal Hemolysin [PDF]

open access: yesInfection and Immunity, 1972
With a purified preparation of pneumococcal hemolysin, a sigmoid relationship was found to exist between lysin concentration and hemolytic activity. Hemolysis was inhibited by a high ratio of erythrocytes to lysin, suggesting a multi-hit mechanism of action.

Characterization, purification and phylogenetic analysis of a cytolysin from the sea anemone Heteractis magnifica of the Indian Ocean

open access: yesJournal of Venomous Animals and Toxins including Tropical Diseases, 2010
It is well established that sea anemones comprise a rich source of cytolytic toxins. The present study reports the isolation and characterization of a cytolysin obtained from the sea anemone Heteractis magnifica collected in the Andaman Islands of the ...

S. aureus hemolysins, bi-component leukocidins and cytolytic peptides: a redundant arsenal of membrane-damaging virulence factors?

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2012
One key aspect of S. aureus virulence lies in its ability to target the host cell membrane with a large number of membrane-damaging toxins and peptides.
