HEMOLYSIS OF CHICKEN BLOOD [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Physiology, 1928
1. The time-dilution curves are given for the hemolytic action of saponin, sodium taurocholate, and sodium oleate on nucleated chicken erythrocytes. 2. Saponin and sodium taurocholate cause hemolysis but leave the nuclei and ghosts in suspension, thereby making the end-point of hemolysis more arbitrary than the clear end-point for non ...

Improvement of Hemocompatibility in Passive Cardiovascular Implant Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
With the ever‐increasing reliance on cardiovascular devices and implants, minimizing their impact on blood is vital for their continued success. This review investigates the common methods of tackling this challenge through careful selections of material and surface modifications.

Perbedaan Kadar Alanine Aminotransferase (Alt) Dalam Serum Dari Darah Yang Disentrifugasi Pada Kecepatan 3000 Rpm Selama 5 Menit Dan 4400 Rpm Selama 3 Menit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background : Laboratory tests for liver and heart are emergency, so the examination must be carried out quickly including ALT examination. One way is by reducing the time of centrifugation without reducing the quality of serum.

Evaluation of Hemolysis as a Severe Feature of Preeclampsia

open access: yesHYPERTENSION, 2018
Hemolysis predisposes to adverse pregnancy outcomes. Yet, there are limited data on hemolysis in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy other than hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet count syndrome.

Elderly Liver Grafts are More Susceptible to Ischemia‐Reperfusion After Prolonged Cold Ischemia than Grafts from Young Donors—An Ex Vivo Liver Machine Perfusion Analysis in Sprague Dawley Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This study investigates how donor age and cold ischemia time influence liver perfusion parameters and injury markers. Older livers are more susceptible to longer ischemia times displaying more tissue damage, and higher expression of oxidative stress and apoptosis‐related proteins than livers with shorter ischemia times.

Characterization of Storage-Induced Red Blood Cell Hemolysis Using Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesLaboratoriums Medizin, 2018
Background The therapeutic efficacy and safety of stored red blood cells (RBCs) relies on minimal in-bag hemolysis. The accuracy of current methods of measuring hemolysis can suffer as a result of specimen collection and processing artefacts ...

Therapeutic Antibodies for Mosquito‐Borne Orthoflavivirus Infections: Discovery, Engineering Approaches, and Advances in mRNA‐Based Delivery Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This review explores how antibody engineering and display technologies are driving therapeutic advances against mosquito‐borne orthoflaviviruses such as Zika, dengue, and yellow fever viruses. It highlights diverse neutralizing targets on the envelope protein, including the conserved fusion loop, and discusses how Fc engineering, rational antigen ...

Antiviral Immune Hemolysis

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1973
SummaryNewcastle and parainfluenza I viruses when incubated with mouse or chick embryo erythrocytes at low multiplicity sensitized the red cells to hemolysis by antiviral antibody and complement. Two strains of influenza virus showed little or no sensitizing activity to influenza antibody.
