Biocompatible Liquid Embolic for the Treatment of Microvascular Hemorrhage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 34, September 11, 2024.
An innovative catheter‐directed liquid embolic (P‐LE) is bioengineered to achieve rapid and durable segmental hemostasis reaching microvessels. This novel approach demonstrated remarkable efficacy in rat, pig (non‐survival and survival), and in anti‐coagulated dog embolization models, outperforming the clinically used embolic agents.

Catheter‐Directed Ionic Liquid Embolic Agent for Rapid Portal Vein Embolization, Segmentectomy, and Bile Duct Ablation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 36, Issue 29, July 18, 2024.
Embolic materials currently used for PVE do not treat the tumor, risking tumor progression during the interval between PVE and surgery. Here, an ionic‐liquid‐based embolic material (LEAD) is developed that can embolize, ablate, and deliver therapeutics.
