Hemorrhagic Stroke in Pregnancy
Clinical Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2022Hemorrhagic stroke carries a high risk of disability and mortality. The obstetrical population is at increased risk. Prompt diagnosis and maternal stabilization with a multidisciplinary approach are the mainstays in management. Computed tomography head is the diagnostic imaging of choice and is considered safe in pregnancy.

Expert Review of Neurotherapeutics, 2011
Statin therapy has a major impact on the treatment of coronary artery disease and also has an impact on the treatment of ischemic stroke. Both clinical and experimental studies support the concept of statin actions beyond those of lipid lowering per se (pleiotrophic effects).

Continuum, 2016
Hemorrhagic stroke comprises approximately 15% to 20% of all strokes. This article provides readers with an understanding of the indications and significance of various neuroimaging techniques available for patients presenting with hemorrhagic strokes of distinct causes. The most common initial neuroimaging study is a noncontrast head CT, which allows ...

Magnetic Resonance Imaging Clinics of North America, 2006
Neuroimaging by CT or MR is necessary for the detection of hemorrhagic stroke and provides important data regarding the cause of stroke. Serial changes in the CT and MR appearance of hematoma attributable to temporal evolution must be assessed to assure accurate diagnosis.

Autophagy and Hemorrhagic Stroke
2020Hemorrhagic stroke includes cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage. An increasing number of studies have found that autophagy also occurs in brain tissues after cerebral hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage. The potential role of selective autophagy in the clinical treatment of hemorrhagic stroke has been recognized, but a consensus on the ...

Circadian Variability in Hemorrhagic Stroke
JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 2002The time of occurrence of intracerebral hemorrhage shows a biphasic circadian pattern characterized by a prevalent peak in the morning, similar to that reported for other hemorrhagic events such as subarachnoid hemorrhage, rupture of aortic aneurysms, and epistaxis.

Hemorrhagic stroke: intracerebral hemorrhage.
Missouri medicine, 2011Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a devastating event, carrying a very high morbidity and mortality rate. Hypertension and age-related amyloid angiopathy are the strongest risk factors for ICH, but smoking, anticoagulation with warfarin, excessive alcohol intake and cocaine also increase risk.

Management of hemorrhagic stroke
Current Cardiology Reports, 2002Fifty thousand Americans suffer an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) annually, one third of whom die as a result. Poorly controlled hypertension is the most important risk factor for ICH. Over time it results in pathologic changes to small intracranial vessels, leading to their rupture.
