Synergistic Dual Slip‐Link Toughening of a Water‐Rich Double Network Hydrogel Combining Slide‐Ring and Highly Entangled Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two distinct slip‐link mechanisms – the slide‐ring pulley effect and highly entangled chains – are combined in a water‐rich double network hydrogel, achieving synergistic toughening, near‐complete reversibility, and exceptional friction tear resistance at >$>$91 wt.% water.

ProSiteHunter: A Unified Framework for Sequence‐Based Prediction of Protein‐Nucleic Acid and Protein‐Protein Binding Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposed a unified sequence‐based framework for protein binding site prediction, which adopted a tri‐track semantic multi‐source feature fusion strategy to effectively capture diverse macromolecular interaction sites and further improved the accuracy of antibody‐antigen interaction prediction.

Molecular Engineering Mediated Interfacial Assembly as an Artificial Extracellular Matrix Remolds Bacteria With Enhanced Abiotic Resilience

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biomimetic artificial extracellular matrix is assembled directly on Pseudomonas fluorescens by co‐assembling amyloid‐like lysozyme and alginate at the cell surface. This conformal nanocoating acts as both a hydration buffer and a physiological priming layer, markedly enhancing desiccation tolerance, seed adhesion, storage stability, and biocontrol ...

Improved Eggshell Quality in Aged Hens Through Circadian Gut Microbiota and Metabolite Changes Induced by a 28-h Ahemeral Light Cycle

open access: yesAnimals
The decline in eggshell quality of aged laying hens represents a major economic challenge in poultry production. While a 28 h ahemeral light cycle has been shown to improve eggshell quality, its underlying mechanism remains unclear.

Understanding Egg Price Volatility and Policy Implications in the U.S. With Machine Learning

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eggs are an inexpensive and sustainable source of proteins, but volatility in the U.S. egg prices has intensified in recent years, raising concerns over food affordability and market stability. This study examines the drivers of U.S. egg price dynamics over 2004–2025 using a two‐stage framework that combines LASSO‐based variable selection with

Effect of Dietary Carotenoid on Egg Yolk Color and Singlet Oxygen Quenching Activity of Laying Hens

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2022
The effects of dietary carotenoids on egg yolk were investigated in this study. Forty Rhode Island Red (RR) and 40 Silky Fowl (SF) hens that were 60 weeks old were used. Hens of each breed were randomly divided into four dietary groups.

Foreign labor, peer‐networking and agricultural efficiency in the Italian dairy sector

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
Abstract While the presence of immigrants in the agricultural sector is widely acknowledged, the empirical evidence on its economic consequences is lacking, especially from a microeconomic perspective. Using the Farm Accountancy Data Network panel data for Italian dairy farms in the period 2008–2018, the present study investigates the relationship ...
