Cytotoxic Effects of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles on Hep G2 Cells

2020
Iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe2O3-NPs) are being used in an increasing number of fields such as molecular imaging in the context of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, ultrasound, optical imaging, and X-ray imaging. This widespread application of different sized of Fe2O3-NP in the biomedical field raises concerns over their increasing expose to tissues and ...

Effects of cadmium on glutathione metabolism in Hep G2 cells.

Research communications in molecular pathology and pharmacology, 1996
Effects of cadmium on hepatic glutathione (GSH) metabolism were characterized in a human-derived hepatoma cell line, Hep G2 cells. Intracellular GSH concentrations were significantly increased after incubation with cadmium at 5 and 10 microM for 24 and 48 hr.

Iron transport and subcellular distribution in Hep G2 hepatocarcinoma cells.

Annals of clinical and laboratory science, 1995
Thalassemic patients with iron overload are presently treated with deferoxamine or the experimental chelator deferiprone. To understand how these agents remove iron from the liver, cultured human hepatoma cells loaded with iron were previously used as a model for hepatic iron overload.
