To present a successfully treated case of hepatic artery aneurysm.A 76-year-old, retired male Caucasian presented with acute abdominal pain which was diagnosed as acute cholecystitis. An aneurysm of the hepatic artery was found at operation for cholecystectomy, and an arteriogram confirmed the position of the aneurysm, distal to the origin of the ...

Aneurysms of the Hepatic Artery
Southern Medical Journal, 1976Aneurysms of the hepatic artery are rare and, when symptomatic, they may present a triad of upper abdominal pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, and obstructive jaundice. Asymptomatic and unsuspected aneurysms are demonstrated occasionally by abdominal arteriography or are encountered infrequently during abdominal operation for an unrelated disease ...

Pseudoaneurysm of the Hepatic Artery
Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, 2011Hepatic artery pseudoaneurysms are a rare complication of biliary tract surgery and have an associated mortality that approaches 50%.A case of massive haemobilia caused by a hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm several months following laparoscopic cholecystectomy is described. It was successfully managed by angiographic embolisation, with the patient making a

To the Editor.— There have been 176 cases of hepatic artery aneurysm reported up to 1970. These are frequently fatal, and only about one-third reaching surgery survive. The clinical picture is marked by pain, a palpable mass, and jaundice, but the triad of pain, hemorrhage, and jaundice suggests a hepatic artery aneurysm.

ANESTHESIA AND HEPATIC ARTERY LIGATION
Survey of Anesthesiology, 1976Hospital and anesthesia records of 39 patients who had hepatic artery ligation for severe hepatic trauma were analyzed retrospectively to acquire information on any relationships between choice of anesthetic, preoperative physical condition of the patient, type and incidence of complications, and mortality. Patients who had lost the most blood received
