Lymph Node Metastasis Pattern and Influencing Factors in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

AGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Among 388 patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma who underwent curative resection, 144 (37.1%) developed lymph node metastasis. Upper thoracic tumors mainly involved upper mediastinal and upper right paratracheal nodes, whereas lower thoracic tumors more often involved paracardial and abdominal nodes.

Impact of Recanalization on Liver Hypertrophy after Portal Vein Embolization and the Role of Re‐Embolization

This retrospective study of 249 patients undergoing hepatectomy after right portal vein embolization (PVE) demonstrated that major recanalization–defined as recanalization more than one segment within the embolized liver–was associated with impaired regeneration of the future liver remnant (FLR).
