Gut microbiota mediates SREBP-1c-driven hepatic lipogenesis and steatosis in response to zero-fat high-sucrose diet

open access: yesMolecular Metabolism
Objectives: Sucrose-rich diets promote hepatic de novo lipogenesis (DNL) and steatosis through interactions with the gut microbiota. However, the role of sugar-microbiota dynamics in the absence of dietary fat remains unclear.

Viability assessment and transplantation of fatty liver grafts using end‐ischemic normothermic machine perfusion

open access: yesLiver Transplantation, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract End‐ischemic viability testing by normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) represents an effective strategy to recover liver grafts having initially been discarded for liver transplantation (LT). However, its results in the setting of significant (≥30%) macrovesicular steatosis (MaS) have not been specifically assessed.

Noninvasive Quantification of Hepatic Steatosis Using Ultrasound‐Derived Fat Fraction (CHESS2303): A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesMedComm
Ultrasound‐derived fat fraction (UDFF) is designed to assess the hepatic fat content quantitatively. A multicenter study that verifies the diagnostic performance of UDFF for detecting hepatic steatosis has not yet been reported.

Surgically confirmed severe endometriosis is associated with lower risk of steatotic liver disease: Evidence of estrogen‐linked hepatic–reproductive crosstalk

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Severe surgically confirmed endometriosis was associated with a lower prevalence of steatotic liver disease than non‐severe disease. Higher estradiol levels may partly explain this inverse hepatic–reproductive association, supporting integrated gynecologic and hepatologic risk assessment.
