Inhibition of VEGF‐Induced Angiogenesis and Vascular Leakage by Bicistronic Co‐Expression of Aflibercept and COMP‐Ang1

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A bicistronic rAAV8 vector encoding Aflibercept (Afb) and COMP‐cAng1 simultaneously coordinates VEGF clearance and Tie2‐mediated vessel maturation. In a 3D angiogenesis‐on‐a‐chip model, rAAV8‐Afb/cAng1 effectively reverses pathological barrier breakdown under clinical disease‐mimicking challenges.

Hepatitis A and E Viruses Are Important Agents of Acute Severe Hepatitis in Asia: A Narrative Review

open access: yesPathogens
Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) and acute liver failure (ALF) are severe hepatitis that occur in patients with and without chronic liver diseases and/or cirrhosis, respectively, and both often result in death.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Stability of Hepatitis A Virus

open access: yesIntervirology, 1984
The stabilities of hepatitis A virus (HAV) and of poliovirus type 2 were compared under strictly controlled, identical conditions of pH value, temperature, and salt concentration. Although the resistance of the viruses proved to be the same from pH 3 to 11, the temperature at which 50% of poliovirus particles became disintegrated during heating at pH 7.

Nanocellulose Alleviates Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy via Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Bile Acid Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanocellulose, derived from microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) through sulfuric acid hydrolysis or mechanical grinding to produce CNC or CNF, was tested in a rat ICP model. Particularly, CNF improved gut microbiota composition, reduced secondary bile acid metabolism, and restored bile acid homeostasis through modulation of the gut–liver axis.

Early predictive efficacy of core antigen on antiviral outcomes in genotype 1 hepatitis C virus infected patients

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2015
Response-guided therapy is of limited use in developing countries because hepatitis C virus RNA detection by sensitive molecular methods is time- and labor-consuming and expensive.

Modulation of miR‐23b Wnt/β‐catenin Axis Strengthens Endothelial Barrier Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early blood‐brain barrier (BBB) disruption contributes to stroke and CNS disease pathology. miR‐23b was identified as a regulator of BBB integrity in brain endothelial cells. Inhibition of miR‐23b enhanced barrier‐associated properties, promoted repair‐related signaling, and reduced BBB leakage in experimental stroke models, supporting further ...

Unveiling Lactylation: A Novel Frontier in Cancer Stemness and Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tumor metabolism and epigenetic regulation are intrinsically linked. This review highlights lactylation as a pivotal bridge connecting these processes, acting as an active epigenetic effector in cancer stemness. We delineate how lactylation orchestrates the cancer stem cell landscape and evaluate its regulatory networks.
