The overlapping coinfection of hepatitis B virus and anti-hepatitis C virus antibody in tuberculosis patients: Unraveling co-infection patterns and clinical implications

open access: yesSAGE Open Medicine
Aims: Viral hepatitis and tuberculosis are major public health concerns with shared risk factors, especially in marginalized communities. Despite this, routine hepatitis B and C viruses screening in tuberculosis patients is uncommon.

Hepatitis B/C virus co-infection in Iran: A seroepidemiological study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background/aims: As hepatitis B and C virus have the same transmission routes, dual infection may occur. The aim of this study was to determine the seroprevalence of HCV in HBsAg-positive subjects.

RNAi Regulator C3PO Promotes Arbovirus Infection in Insect Vectors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RNA interference (RNAi) is vital for eukaryotes to defend against virus infection. The C3PO complex takes part in RNAi but its role in regulating viral infection remains unclear. This work finds that insect C3PO facilitates arbovirus replication by degrading precursors of miRNAs, especially miR‐971‐3p.

Requirement of Activation for Hepatitis B Virus Infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Although _in vitro_ models of human hepatitis B virus replication are established, so far none could approximate infection efficiency as expected from _in vivo_ observations.

Adaptive Learning Expert System for Diagnosis and Management of Viral Hepatitis

open access: yes, 2019
Viral hepatitis is the regularly found health problem throughout the world among other easily transmitted diseases, such as tuberculosis, human immune virus, malaria and so on.

Boron Nitride Nanomaterials Trigger Immunomodulatory Effects in Human Broncho‐Epithelial Cells by Modulating Eicosanoid Lipid Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that BNNT exposure disrupts lipid homeostasis in bronchial epithelial cell cultures and activates eicosanoid lipid biosynthesis, producing inflammatory lipid mediators like leukotrienes. These effects are more pronounced in asthmatic cell cultures compared to healthy ones.

Integrin β3 Orchestrates Hepatic Steatosis via a Novel CD36‐Dependent Lipid Uptake Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In MASH, ITGB3 recruits LYN and drives its ubiquitin‐proteasomal degradation via phosphorylation. This relieves DHHC5 inhibition, enabling ITGB3/DHHC5/CD36 complex assembly to enhance CD36 palmitoylation and fatty acid uptake, thereby exacerbating disease. Targeting ITGB3 blocks this pathogenic axis and ameliorates MASH.
