Annals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.This multicenter study investigated 14 152 minimally invasive esophagectomies (MIEs) using data from the Japanese National Clinical Database and showed a significantly lower operative mortality rate in high‐volume centers than in low‐volume centers. However, no differences in morbidity rates were found between facility sizes.

Relationship Between Kyphosis and Postoperative Gastroesophageal Reflux After Proximal Gastrectomy
Annals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.This study examined the relationship between kyphosis and postoperative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) after proximal gastrectomy using a kyphosis definition that is familiar to surgeons for preoperative assessment. Multivariate analysis revealed that kyphosis is an independent risk factor for GERD after proximal gastrectomy.
