Heptachlor epoxide in marine mammals
Science of The Total Environment, 1981The presence of heptachlor epoxide in harbour seals (Phoca vitulina) and white-beaked dolphins (Lagenorhynchus albirostris) has been confirmed by chemical derivatization and mass spectrometric analyses. An unknown compound at a retention time close to half of heptachlor epoxide interfered in the determination by electron capture detector-gas ...

Heptachlor, Heptachlor Epoxide, and other Chlordane Compounds in Finnish Plywood Workers
Archives of Environmental Health: An International Journal, 1991Residue levels of heptachlor, heptachlor epoxide, and other chlordane compounds were determined in sera from 74 Finnish plywood workers and 52 controls. Concentrations of heptachlor epoxide in plywood workers varied from below the detection limit of 0.1 ng/g to 19.2 ng/g serum (conversion factor for SI units = 975 [1 ng/g = 0.98 microgram/l]); the mean

Oral Toxicity Studies with Heptachlor and Heptachlor Epoxide in Young Calves
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1959Oral toxicity studies using 13 dairy calves, 1 to 2 weeks old, showed that heptachlor epoxide was approximately 10 times as toxic as heptachlor. Both heptachlor and heptachlor epoxide accumulated to produce poisoning when given in multiple doses. A dosage level of 0.2 mg./kg.

The Determination of the Water Solubility of Aldrin, Dieldrin, Heptachlor, and Heptachlor Epoxide
Journal of Economic Entomology, 1968Water-solubility studies were made with aldrin, dieldrin, heptachlor, and heptachlor epoxide. The solubility curves indicate an initial drop followed by a significant increase in solubility occurring during the first 3 or 4 days before a plateau is reached.

Dominant lethal studies with technical chlordane, HCS‐3260, and heptachlor: Heptachlor epoxide
Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1977Male albino mice in groups of eight were each given single doses, either by gavage or by intraperitoneal injection, of either technical chlordane (50 or 100 mg/kg), HCS-3260 (50 or 100 mg/kg), or heptachlor:heptachlor epoxide (25:75) (7.5 or 15 mg/kg). The males were subsequently mated with three untreated females for six consecutive weeks. No dominant

DDT, dieldrin, and heptachlor epoxide in humans with liver cirrhosis
Clinical Biochemistry, 1974Concentrations of DDT, dieldrin, and hepatachlor epoxide were determined in specimens of liver, brain, and adipose tissue, taken at autopsy from patients with hepatic cirrhosis and from controls. Sections of liver were prepared for histopathological examination and the lipid content was ascertained.
